Happy Friday ladies! I’m so excited for our next post of the Ageless Style Series. We are continuing with our fantastic and diverse group of bloggers all styling a similar seasonal trend in a variety of ways. Our fall theme is GOLD!
I must admit — I’m a sucker for metallics. I love all the metals and wear them as much as possible. But I definitely have a preference for gold’s buttery glow. Whether a pair of dainty earrings, a bold statement necklace, a giant wrist cuff, a pair of delicate sandals or a piece of bright metallic clothing, you just can’t go wrong with gold.
One of the wonderful things about gold is that it acts as a neutral. It looks beautiful paired with almost any color. Wear with red or black to make a bold statement. And I love it with leopard! But my favorite way to integrate gold is with a neutral. It’s both timeless and seasonless. Come visit with the girls representing each decade and check out all of these fantastic looks!
I’m starting with me, the oldest of the bunch 🙂

Bio: Hi Ladies! I’m Phyllis, the woman behind followPhyllis.com, a website dedicated to empowering women over 60 to be their best selves. I blog primarily about fitness, nutrition, and motivation but I also love to bring my passion for fashion and beauty to my followers as well. Most women in my age group feel forgotten and I like to remind them of their vibrancy and vitality.
Styling Notes: Although I have a few pieces of metallic clothing, when I think of gold, I think accessories. At almost seventy I’ve amassed a large collection of gold jewelry, bags and shoes. The wide range of gold colors available today is mind boggling. Yellow, white and pink are most popular but we now see green, black, purple and blue. When it comes to metallics some say just a little. But I say more is better!
Styling Tips: Let metallics shine! Whether a piece of clothing or tons of accessories, I love to make my metals stand out and shine! My clothing is nude and light taupe and I adore the way my accessories are the focal point of the outfit.

Styling Notes: The color gold (think goldenrod, mustard) is incredibly popular this fall but it’s a tough tone for me to pull off. Therefore, I opted for metallic gold. The black and gold print midi-skirt is from Anthropologie and is a great year-round piece. I’ve styled it here for early fall by pairing it with a black leatherette shell and tall, fitted, heeled boots. In the summer, I’d wear this same skirt with a soft gold or black camisole or halter and sandals, and for later autumn/winter with a cozy black turtleneck. While easy to wear all year long, it’s also a great piece to include in a holiday or special occasion capsule!

Bio: For those new to my blog, I’m Lesa, better known as Prissy Missy. I am the misfit, quirky fashion-obsessed enby from That Misfit Mama Bear Life With Prissy Missy. When I am not empowering or encouraging others with fashion and flair, I can be found with copious amounts of coffee while helping others with their homeschool journey. I may be a bit eccentric, but hey, that’s what makes life interesting, right?
Styling Notes: Gold is just fun! Plus it works well for multiple seasons! For this look, it definitely dominates. However, if you are not sure gold is really your thing, just start with a bit of accenting, like with your jewelry.
Right now, my big thing is dusters. Being eight months pregnant, I am looking for things that look good now and work for my post-partum transitional wardrobe. Dusters are great for that. They also make a great fashion statement and look good dressed up or dressed down!
Styling Tips: When wearing a duster, be sure to add some fun accents so that it doesn’t overpower your whole outfit. If you have followed me for a while, you know I love hats, so finding a bold hat really puts the look together for me. Don’t be afraid to try something new and creative! You never know when you might find something you love!

Styling Notes: It’s officially fall, time to infuse your wardrobe with all the earth tones and some unexpected pops of color as well. One color great for a little pop to your fall color palette is gold, and I’m not just talking jewelry. For this quarter’s Ageless Style Post we have chosen to show you a few ways to add some gold into your fall wardrobe.
I know when you think of gold many gravitate toward jewelry, but when I read this quarter’s theme I automatically thought of one of my favorite gold finds I currently have in my closet. It is an amazing, mid-length, gold pleated skirt. I actually bought it on SALE three years ago and it took the main stage in my 30th bday outfit. It paired perfectly with a simple black top and a statement necklace for my epic girls’ night out! Today, I’m showing you how I restyled it for one of my favorite Fashion Week looks. I decided to go all out and add some animal print, leopard obviously, and I wanted to give the look a little edge, so I added some killer leather booties and my favorite leather jacket. It really is a great versatile piece and a perfect way to elevate any fall look. I found a similar one and linked on my Like to Know It page, come check it out!
Styling Tips: A gold piece like my skirt can definitely be intimidating for many people to add to their wardrobe. The easiest way to style it is with my favorite color black! You can add a cute black cami and heels for summer or a cozy black sweater and booties for fall. Going with a gold top instead of a skirt? Pair with black denim for a classic look! As always, I hope I inspired you to try something new when styling your fall wardrobe!

Styling Notes: Fall is here! Fall is my favorite time of the year for fashion. I love to include all of the deep rich colors that we see change seasonally within nature to my wardrobe. Gold is by far my favorite color palette to wear. You can wear it in so many ways, from your jewelry, shoes, dresses, and more! I chose to style my look all around this pleated gold skirt! I kept the top simple with a black blouse so the skirt could be a statement for the entire look. Lastly, I paired the skirt with these gold pointy toe pumps I bought years ago at Nordstrom Rack. This look gives me full on Fall/Holiday vibes!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Trends come and go but one thing always remains constant: women of all ages want to look current and they want to look good! Any style can be tailored to a woman’s age and body shape so it’s important to think outside of the box! Remember to have fun!
